Massimo Moriconi New ICCO European President

ICCO elects Massimo Moriconi, General Manager, Omnicom PR Group Italy, as new regional ‘European President’. Massimo fought off two other candidates to win in a vote that was approved today by the ICCO Board of Management. Massimo will now begin a minimum of a two-year term on the ICCO Executive Committee alongside the four Regional Presidents for America, Africa, Asia Pacific, Middle East. The Executive Committee is led by ICCO President Nitin Mantri and Vice President Grzegorz Szczepanski as well as ICCO Chief Executive Francis Ingham. Massimo takes over from Juergen Gangoly, CEO, The Skills Group, who had served in the role for four years.

Francis Ingham said:
“We are thrilled to have Massimo leading our European activities for the coming years. He has been an excellent board member for ICCO, and I look forward to working with him in his new role as European President. I would also like to thank Juergen Gangoly, who has launched a number of new activities and initiatives in his time as European President and will remain involved in his role representing our Austrian association PRVA.”

Massimo said:
“I’m delighted to serve ICCO as new European President and to represent Europe’s PR industry in these hectic times. Today, more than ever, communications and public relations have a role in the co-design of physical and mental places of our society. For this reason, our desire for the years to come is to intensify the relationships with European institutions and other organizations in the wider communications industry. I look forward to working with ICCO’s Global Executive Committee, Board of Management and all members to support cross-border co-operation on key areas for our discipline including training, ethics and quality standards.”
